It’s been a long time (over a year and a half!) since I’ve written about my personal life. This blog has been a little on the back burner for a while, since I’ve been busy moving, finishing my degree, and trying (but failing) to figure out what I want to do with my life. So that’s the big news, that I finally finished my degree! I’m officially a social scientist, whatever that means!
In other news, I also got engaged! I’ve been with my partner for almost five years now, and he proposed last weekend. It was the perfect proposal. He took me to the beach and we had a little picnic. When the sun started going down, he suggested we walk along the beach. I spotted my friend behind us with a camera and then I knew for sure that he was going to propose, but I actually liked kind of knowing what was going on. It was sweet, low key, and I’m so excited to start a new phase of life with him! Our relationship actually feels pretty much the same, which I consider to be a good sign.
Unfortunately, we’ll have to do about a year of long distance again, since I’m leaving Europe for a couple years and he has a year left of his degree. But we’ve been a long- to mid-distance couple our whole relationship, and I’m sure it will be a strengthening experience for us. I’m going to stay home with my parents in the US for at least a few months to get my bearings and job search. I’m really lucky that I can stay with my parents while I work and try to find some direction in my life! Not having to worry about school is already a huge weight off my shoulders.

My plan is to post on this blog much more consistently, and I have a few other projects I’m working on, two of which revolve around worldbuilding! I hope I can get at least one off the ground by next year. I think I will post more personal updates about my life and these projects and treat this as a real personal blog! My goal is at least one post per week. Let’s see how it goes! In general, this feels very much like a new phase of life, but since my partner and I are still long distance, and I still have no leads on a career, it still feels like the same old stuff. But in any case, I learn about new cozy games all the time to maintain my sanity!
